This policy explains how Astrology Colours collects, uses and protects your personal information, and the rights you have over it. Astrology Colours is run by Graham Boston ("I", "me", "my"), and I am the data controller responsible for your personal data.

The information I collect
Depending on how you deal with me, I may collect:
  • Booking and contact details - your name, email address and, if you give it, your telephone number, when you book a consultation, request a report, or get in touch through the website or by email.
  • Birth details - your date, time and place of birth. I need these to draw your birth chart and prepare your colour palettes or Soul Style Report. These are personal data, but are not in themselves "special category" data under UK data protection law.
  • Payment information - when you pay, your card details are handled directly by my payment provider, Square. I do not see or store your full card details.
  • Website information - like most websites, mine (hosted by [Weebly]) may collect basic technical information and use cookies; see "Cookies" below.
  • Newsletter details - if you sign up for updates, your email address and, if given, your name.
Why I use it, and my lawful basis
  • To provide the service you have asked for - preparing and delivering your consultation, palettes or report, and corresponding with you about it. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • To respond to enquiries you send me. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • To send you updates, if you have signed up for them. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time - every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations, such as keeping records for tax. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
I do not use your information to make automated decisions, and I do not sell it to anyone.
Who I share it with
I keep your information to myself wherever possible. I share it only with:
  • Service providers who help me run the business - for example my website host (Weebly) and payment provider (Square) - and only as far as is needed to do their job.
  • Booking partners - if you book through a partner such as The Isbourne or Page of Wands, we will each hold the booking details needed to arrange your session.
  • Anyone I am legally required to share it with, such as HMRC.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that is the case, they are required to protect your data to standards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long I keep it
I keep your information only as long as I need it:
  • Birth details and palette or report records - for as long as you remain a client and up to 6 years afterwards, so I can help with repeat or follow-up work.
  • Booking and financial records - for 6 years, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
  • Newsletter details - until you unsubscribe.
How I keep it safe
I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, including limiting access to myself, password protection and secure storage. No system is ever completely secure, but I treat your details with care.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
  • ask for a copy of the information I hold about you;
  • ask me to correct anything that is wrong;
  • ask me to delete it, where there is no legal reason for me to keep it;
  • ask me to restrict or stop using it;
  • object to my using it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where I rely on consent.

Cookies
My website uses cookies to function and, where applicable, to understand how visitors use it. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
